A B O U T K I T H EEvery child deserves to be known.
I was that kid.The one who couldn't sit still, who talked too much, who was told she was clever but careless, capable but lazy. In the Asian classroom of my childhood, there was no word for what I was — only words for what I wasn't: obedient, focused, easy.
No one around me knew what ADHD looked like in a girl. So instead of understanding, I got labels. Instead of support, I got comparison. My parents loved me deeply — they simply were never given the knowledge, in their language and their culture, to see what was really happening.
|| Kithe is everything I wish someone had handed my parents.
I became a child psychologist. I've spent my career inside international schools and clinics in Singapore, sitting across from families at the very moment they realise their child's brain works differently. And I watched the same thing happen, over and over: parents who love fiercely, drowning in information, with no idea where to start.
The knowledge exists. The research exists. What doesn't exist is a bridge — something that translates evidence-based child psychology into the real lives of Asian families. The auntie's comments at dinner. The school's carefully worded email. The grandparents who think discipline will fix it. The quiet fear that a diagnosis will follow your child forever.
That bridge is Kithe. Plain-language guides, written by a clinician who has done thousands of hours of this work — and lived it from the inside.
Kithe
(verb, archaic) — to make known; to show; to reveal
We chose an old word for an old problem. Children have always needed to be seen clearly. Kithe exists to make your child known — to their school, their family, and most of all, to you. Not as a label. As a whole person.
The mark
Two figures reach toward each other — the child and the parent, leaning in from opposite ends. The long, steady line running through it all is Kithe itself: the guidance and knowledge that holds the space between them.
Where the three lines meet is the moment of being known.
